The nap wore off the microsuede upholstery and it did stain, which microsuede isn't supposed to do. We pretty much relegated it to the dog and cat for the last few years! It wasn't supposed to be moved to this house, it was supposed to go out on the curb, but the movers weren't paying attention; we just unburied it ;-) and gave it away to someone who rather desperately needed furniture and it looked so terrible that I felt quite bad about it, but they're just going to put a throw over it for now. It's not worth reupholstering, even DIY with free fabric! For the level of disposability of that piece I'd go to Ikea and spend half as much.
