My Vellux blanket DISINTEGRATED in my washer. These blankets are touted to become softer with washing, but just turn to mush for you to scoop out of your washer. Do NOT buy.

My blanket fell apart

Washed king size. As instructions it now a pile of puffy stuff in trash can. It made a mess and we on a septic field. Would not recommend this blanket.

I had two Vellux blankets in a air tight container. I recently used them to cover up two chairs in storage so I decided to wash them due to the dust on them. They totally fell apart in the washer, leaving a mess of fluff in the machine and a honeycomb mesh type of netting.

Blankets Not What They Used to Be

I bought several blankets last year and this year. Most of them are discolored; all of the ivory blankets are yellowed with dark yellow stains especially along the folds. They smell chemically and have hard black fibers in them. They also have holes in them.

Home & beyond

This blanket has been my travel companion for at least 10 years. It has been to 5 countries and 4 states and just now needing replacement. Kept me warm in the cold and breathed in the heat. This blanket was so hard to part with that I lined the dog bed instead of just throwing it away.

I live in Florida and have purchased 2 of these Vellux blankets from JC Penny's. The first one was for a double bed and I used it for one winter. I liked it because it was very warm. So when I purchased a King size bed I also purchased another Vellux blanket.

Nice blanket, terrible odor

This blanket is nice and heavy, evenly weighted, and is properly anchored inside so that the weight can't shift inside and get thrown off. The outside is so cushiony soft and nice to the touch.

Must have Blanket!

Over the last 30 years I have personally owned 3 of these blankets. They are warm I the winter and cool in the summer. They machine wash great and are fine in the drier but air dry quick enough. They do eventually break down but, I keep buying them because of how great this blanket is in all seasons.

Disintegrating Blanket, terrible smell

I washed this blanket as per usual and per instructions and it completely disintegrated in my washing machine. See attached picture. Terrible mess and now I have to be concerned with clogged pipes for the washing machine. Do not recommend. Terrible quality.

I love these blankets

I feel like a weirdo but I've had iterations of this blanket since I was a child. They are perfect all-weather blankets, and hypo-allergenic! Mine have lasted years and years and years and are easy to care for. The only bummer is that it's finally time for me to replace and it's out of stock!!!
