short term eye contact with chlorhexidine gluconate wont do anything. the warning is only posted because apparently surgeons got some in patients' eyes and it remained in there for several hours since well the patients were knocked out and obviously couldnt tell anyone something was in their eyes.

You should never scrub, just gently apply it and let it soak in for a few minutes and then rinse. Scrubbing will make existing spots worse, and would be unlikely to make any positive difference.
