HI SHEALRAY. resin is ok with latex. i use it in latex with the correct amount of catalyst.and it does no emmediate harm. and it will only damage the latex after a lot of casts have been made. so once you make your first cast it would be a good idea to make more latex moulds of the same cast. or keep a model of your dolphin.so you could make a mould when you need it. everybody knows that latex will shrink but it does not shrink that much.as some would believe.i use it all the time and its a good mould making rubber. but you need the patients of a saint.with latex you can ad latex thickener if you want. or just paint enough coats of latex on without thickener.as you don't need to ad thickener all the time.

not trying to be a know it all but yes water will eventually rot the latex mould but i think backyard is telling you it is ok for a few shots to cast what you need to. a fibre or plaster mother mould will be needed after you cast with the first shot you could make one or the other or try the foam. it makes great mother moulds. i used to tell my mother to dry her rubber ring on her washing machine after each time she finished her wash and that is a silicone rubber seal. she never did and one day she said to me my washing machine is leaking. it cost her money to have a new rubber seal put on as it had rotted because she did not dry it.
