You should therefore ensure that this new plaster is absolutely dry before you apply any of this paint otherwise adhesion may fail, especially in a kitchen. It's available from Vinyl Matt to Diamond Eggshell.

Dulux has been a big brand for years - so I doubt it’s a scam. Why not try it in an area you feel it may be useful and see? Wall lighting over art work can be a way of adding ambient lighting into darker spaces too, if you are redecorating anyway .

others will no doubt have other opinions but personally "reflective particles" sounds like a gimmick to me, why put reflective particles in a matt paint, just use vinyl silk instead if shiny is required. Putting a mirror up can reflect light too. price wise it seems about the same as standard dulux vinyl so maybe give it a go.

As for the mist coat... make sure your plaster is properly dry ,then apply a non-vinyl emulsion thinned down by about 40% water.

Wow,,, a paint that contains "light reflecting particles." I suppose if it didn't contain any, Dulux would still sell it and call it "black paint."
