As soon as perennials began to show up in the local stores, I began to search. My first several attempts yielded nothing, but finally I went to the huge local gardening center that seems to grow faster than the plants they sell. It must be four or five times bigger than it was just a few years ago; in fact, it now fills multiple buildings.

I've never seen flies and wasps attracted to my Thundercloud Sedum before, but they sure are this year! Didn't see any bees, just mostly flies and a few wasps all over the blooms. Is this normal?

I haven't seen the wasps so much, but there does seem to be a very high population of flies right now and they are on everything. Maybe they are partying it up knowing that very soon winter is coming and so is their demise.
