How many credits do you need to take in the summer?
However, you aren’t required to take more than 6 credits in the Summer C semester as a new freshman student.
Is study abroad a state requirement?
It’s a state-wide requirement I believe. Plus study abroad counts towards the summer requirements. Students also have the option to take online classes. It’s really not a hassle for the majority of students
Is Brightfutures only for summer?
Ok. But Brightfutures is only available for Fall/Summer terms. There are no BF in Summer for students. But 6 credits is full time, then I guess that is the required minimum. Thanks
Do you have to take freshman English classes at FSU?
If you haven’t gotten credit for the class, you are required to take the freshman English class. The cost is the same as every other semester for tuition and stuff per credit hour, though housing is less expensive since it’s only for 6 weeks. You can look all of that up on FSU’s website.

When is FSU orientation due?
First-year/lower-division transfer students starting at FSU in the fall/summer semester have until May 1 to pay their Orientation fee. New summer/fall students may have their admissions canceled if they do not pay for Orientation by the May 1 deadline. Keep in mind that each orientation session is capacity limited and sessions will close as they fill. Orientation session space is available on a first-reserve basis. There is not a registration deadline for spring students, however, it does help us plan for your arrival if you register at least 2 business days in advance.
What is a mandatory meeting for FSA?
The meeting is mandatory and will cover everything from academic policy and procedures, academic advising, class registration, packing tips, and finances to study center specifics and safety. It will also provide students with the opportunity to meet and form relationships with fellow FYA/FSA participants.
What do academic advisors do during orientation?
Academic advisors will recommend courses for your first and future semesters and help you develop an academic plan. You are also encouraged to communicate with your academic advisor frequently post-orientation.
