You may want to check that if your crib will be in the center of the room.

Take your time and try to keep it fun, you'll cherish these memories forever

Like I mentioned above, a lot of clients will get the bumpers with the crib set and use them when baby is older and more active, and when they feel comfortable using them. Both of my kids reached a point where they literally couldn't sleep without me putting bumpers in, because they kept bonking heads and getting legs stuck, but not all babies are like that. It's a personal choice, you decide what's best for you and your baby. Rail Guards are a great alternative if you don't feel comfortable using bumpers.

How to know if a crib mattress is firm?from babyslittleplace.com

If you use an older mattress, check if it’s still firm and fits tight in the crib. Press on the mattress with your hand, if it springs back in place quickly, it’s firm enough. Also, make sure there is a room for no more than two fingers between the side of the crib and the edge of the mattress. That way your baby can’t slip in and get trapped between the mattress and crib side.

How to measure a crib for a mattress?from viewalongtheway.com

You need three measurements. Length of the longest side, lengths of the two shortest sides, and height when the mattress is at its highest setting. Your measurements will probably be pretty close to mine, but may not be exactly the same: 2. Cut your fabric.

2. Measure the Crib's Width

Measure the width of the longest side of your crib (only measure one side since they will be the same). Here is where you have the options to measure for exposed pleats (hems) on the front or hidden pleats on the corners.

3. Adjust the Measurements

Measure the width of the shortest ends of your crib (you only have to measure one end of the crib since the measurements will be the same).

4. Hem Up the Panels

Now that you have your measurements for all 4 panels (and have made the cuts) it's time to hem it up!

5. Placing Your DIY Crib Skirt

To install the crib skirt, start by attaching your panels to your mattress spring using small binder clips.
