For muscle tone and stamina, you will eventually need to do endurance stuff and add some intensity and speed. I would probably faint during even a beginners session of cross fit. I can´t seem to get past a couple of swimming laps before having to pause to get an even breath again.

Update: Thanks to everyone who offered encouragement and advice! My Doctor did refill my prescription after some going back and forth with them, and somehow they gave me 2. This is not the first time she has given me the round around that cost me heartache and money.
