Is azactam a penicillin?
Aztreonam is a monobactam antibiotic that was approved in 1986 for the treatment of Gram-negative bacterial infections via intravenous or intramuscular injection (Azactam®) [20]. This drug was marketed to treat bacterial infections and is safe for patients with penicillin allergies [21].
