Fares and fees

Check-in

In Newark, I used my smartphone to do online check-in, which was wonky at best. The QR code on my boarding pass didn’t pass muster at the TSA screening checkpoint, so I was guided to a kiosk to check in. The problem there was French Bee didn’t show up on the screen, so I was taken to customer service, got a paper pass and made it through.

The post-security experience

Newark Terminal B, like many airports across the country, had only one dining option in our boarding area. It was a bar/restaurant that wasn’t serving food. But the seating was good since the boarding area was scarce with two other airlines also boarding near our time.

Bottom line

This was a much better experience than my Newark-Paris Orly flight. French Bee has been flying out of its home turf of Orly since September 2016, so except for the broken kiosks, it was a much better check-in and boarding experience. This is the leg of my flight that I would actually fly again.

Does not even deserve a star

Does not even deserve a star. Did not honor my ticket and none of the customer service avenues actually work (e.g., phone line is dead).

Vile disgusting airline

Vile disgusting airline, as I'm in UK they've cut all methods of contact when I asked for my taxes and fees back.

Total fraud

Total fraud. Purchased tickets to Paris for Christmas in 2020 and Then France went into lockdown and flights got cancelled. We have filed for a refund and the company has given us a run around for a year now. We called on several occasions and all we got was: we wil look into it.

Du "vol" dans le mauvais sense du terme- August 2021

Impossible to check in online, on the phone they said the system was down. At the airport they closed check in almost two hours before take off, even though they advertised closing at 1:30 hours before. We arrived 1:40 min before, and though there were still two agents present they refused to check us in! We had no luggage.

Please don't use

We arrived at airport 80 minutes prior to our flight due to transportation issues. Frenchbee agents refused to print our boarding passes saying the flight was already closed. We were told we would have to buy new tickets and take next days flight. I suspect that they are overselling flight and use this to keep all our money.

Paying twice for our Flight

We had originally booked our flight from Paris to Newark for Friday July 30th 2021. French Bee sent us a notice that our flight was changed Thursday July 29th of that week. To stay with our family, we decided to change our flight to the Saturday July 31st 2021.

They are not serious

They are not serious! My flight was canceled twice as well and I had to pay an extra 200 euros in order to be placed on a flight departing on August the 5th. That flight was canceled again 2 days ago. I have a reason to believe they have not been flying for a while. I'll report them to IATA. They won't get away with my money.

Booking my flight

I booked my flight online, and it was what you’d expect when choosing a low-cost carrier. You get your base fare with a bunch of add-ons, including seat selection, baggage fees, a meal, priority boarding and more. I decided to fly to Paris in economy and premium on the flight back to Newark.

Check-in

I chose to check in online using my iPhone, and it was a bit messy. Every time I tried, I either got the directions in French or I kept being directed back to the French Bee home page. I received a text from the airline on the day of my departure offering online check-in, and this time it worked.

Celebrating the inaugural

There really wasn’t much of a celebration. There was a sign at the gate announcing the start, and there were women handing out French and American flags.

Bottom line

This flight was a long time coming, and despite some major hiccups, we made it to Paris. It’s nice that U.S. travelers have yet another option — and low cost at that — between New York and Paris. Personally, I was absolutely thrilled to be traveling out of the country again.

Breakfast

Breakfast in France is often a simple or quick meal. It’s common practice to eat a slice of bread topped with butter, honey, jam, cheese, or ham. Alongside this, you’ll typically find a hot beverage such as coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

Lunch and Dinner

While breakfast is typically short and simple, lunch and dinner are longer meals that often include multiple courses. Lunch breaks are often one- or two-hour events enjoyed in work cafeterias, at local eateries, or at home with family.

French Desserts

French desserts are beautiful and rich but are served in small portions. Most French desserts center around pastries, creams, and fruits. The dessert ends the meal on a sweet but light note, aiming to prevent people from feeling overly full.

French Breads

Bread is one of the staples of French cuisine. While it isn’t its own course, most meals are served with a side of bread. Baguettes are especially popular, but there are many varieties of French bread.

French Pastries

French pastries can be found at pâtisseries, French bakeries that specialize in pastries and sweets. Pâtissiers, or pastry chefs, are highly qualified after years of training, exams, and apprenticeships.
