Does K12 offer computers?
To use K12's program, you'll need a computer with an Internet connection and free software programs, which you can download from the Internet. The recommended browser when using the K12 Online School platforms, for all grade levels, is Google Chrome. Can K12 track your computer?
K12 Customer Care and Technical Support does not determine eligibility or approval for loaner Computers. If you qualify for a computer and you are wanting to view the expected delivery date/time of the shipment, please continue to check the Hardware tab in My Info for tracking information.
Is K12 a good choice?
The Keychron K12 is good for office use, but its high profile may cause wrist strain since it doesn't come with a wrist rest. That said, it feels very well-built with its aluminum frame and plastic chassis, and the Gateron Brown switches on our unit are quiet to type on. It also comes with different switches if you prefer a different feel.

If you are eligible for a computer, you will receive either a laptop or desktop computer. The type of computer you receive depends on your school's Computer Rules. Please know that K12 is unable to fulfill special requests for a laptop when your student qualifies for a desktop per the school's Computer Rules.

Can I get Stride K12 on my mobile device or e-reader? Unfortunately, most mobile devices such as tablets and phones cannot be used as a primary device for accessing the Online School because they do not support all the necessary software products.

Does Florida Virtual school provide computers?
The laptops are available on a first come, first served basis. All laptops are provided to students to support their academic performance and completion of class assignments. The program limit is set as a once-per-lifetime laptop per student. Technical support/replacements will not be provided.

Know Which Equipment to Return
The Reclamation Letter lists the specific hardware equipment with serial numbers to be returned. Always return all power cords with the hardware.

If you initially declined the hardware offered during the enrollment process, the Request K12 Computer button will be displayed here. Click this button to update the Computer Choice for the student.
How to Check for Updates once the Hardware Request is Sent
We encourage you to continue to check the Hardware tab in My Info for updates as to your request for a K12 Computer. See the examples below to view what your screen could look like once your student’s Computer Choice has been updated and the Eligibility has been recalculated.
Can K12 schools loan computers?
Some K12-powered public schools are able to loan computer equipment to students for the duration of their enrollment. Check with your school to learn their policies for issuing school-owned computer equipment and any eligibility requirements, such as income qualifications.
