Is Rover's insurance a guarantee?
Rover has changed and renamed it as their Guarantee. It used to be called insurance or protection plan, which is why the older questions would have called it that. I don't recall when it was changed, as Rover didn't make a big announcement that I recall and quietly scaled back on its protection.
Does Rover cover dog sitters?
Sure Rover provides some coverage for the client's dog but does NOT provide the sitter with liability insurance. Should something catastrophic happen; the dog dies in your care or gets lost the client can and may possibly sue you. So the bottom line is Rover does not cover the sitters back. Please consider purchasing your own insurance policy for peace of mind.

What isn’t covered: Damage to the property of a pet care provider or someone related to or residing with the pet care provider. Damage to a pet owner’s property caused by their own pets. Rover insurance provides little to no liability coverage to the sitter; that's why many sitters also purchase insurance independent of Rover for peace of mind by having adequate coverage. Don't count on Rover to cover your butt in case of an issue or a client sues you.
