What ports do I set up the VLANs on Brocade switches?
We've recently bought 6 Brocade switches which I have now stacked. I have been asked to set up the VLANS across these switches so that any port can be used for any VLAN. Normally in the past I would simply have set them specifically, i.e. ports 1 - 24 as VLAN 16 (Data) and ports 25 - 48 as VLAN 17 (Voice).

What is VLAN configuration?
A VLAN is a group of devices on one or more LANs that are configured to communicate as if they were attached to the same wire, when in fact they are located on a number of different LAN segments. Because VLANs are based on logical instead of physical connections, they are extremely flexible.

What is Ve port in Brocade?
A virtual Ethernet (VE) interface is a logical interface that comprises physical ports and port-channel interfaces. A VE interface is the Layer 3 counterpart of a VLAN interface.
What is dual mode in Brocade switch?
The dual-mode feature allows traffic for VLAN 20 and untagged traffic to go through the port at the same time.
What is upstream and downstream in Brocade switch?
Any ISL of a switch that takes to the Principal switch is a upstream. Any ISL of a switch that goes away from principle switch is a downstream.
How do I find VLAN settings?

Summary
Adding untagged & tagged vlan on the same switch port on Ruckus ICX switch.
Customer Environment
Customer running ZD/Unleashed/SZ/vSCG with Ruckus ICX switches and want to use a separate VLAN for a specific WLAN. Example: VLAN 10 is the Native VLAN VLAN 20, 30 are used for as Tagged port for WLAN,s.
Root Cause
Following is an example on how to add VLAN into a Trunk port as Tagged and Un-tagged at same time.
How to allow a port to carry both untagged and tagged traffic?
To allow a port to carry both untagged (native, or default VLAN) and tagged traffic, you must use the dual-mode command. Otherwise, a port carries only untagged or tagged traffic. (This was a key difference in Brocade’s VLAN implementation that threw me off at first.)
What is the link aggregate key?
You’ll use the link-aggregate configure key <unique key> command to identify which interfaces may participate in a given link aggregate. The key must range from 10000 to 65535, and has to be unique for each group of interfaces in a link aggregate bundle. The switch uses the key to identify which ports may be a part of a link aggregate.
How to add a port to a VLAN?
To add a port to that VLAN, so that traffic across that port is tagged for the specified VLAN, use the tagged ethernet <interface> command.
Can you use libvirt with OVS?
On OVS, you must either create OVS fake bridges for each VLAN or (when it’s working) use libvirt integration with OVS. You can wrap libvirt networks around OVS fake bridges as well.
Is a VLAN interoperable?
Although VLANs are (generally) interoperable between different switch vendors due to the broad adoption of the 802.1Q standard, the details of each vendor’s implementation of VLANs is just different enough to make life difficult. In this particular case, since I learned Cisco’s VLAN implementation first, Brocade’s VLAN implementation on the FastIron Edge X series switches seemed rather odd. I’m sure that had I learned Brocade’s implementation first, then Cisco’s version would seem odd.
What is the identical key value in a link aggregate bundle?
As I mentioned earlier, the identical key value is what tells the switch which interfaces belong in the same bundle.
Does vSphere 5.1 support LACP?
If you are using vSphere, note that you’ll need to use vSphere 5.1 and a vSphere Distributed Switch (VDS) in order to use LACP. In order to use LACP, you’ll need to set your teaming policy to “Route based on IP hash,” and then you must enable LACP in the settings for the uplink group. Chris Wahl has a nice write-up here, including a list of the caveats of using LACP with vSphere. VMware also has a VMware KB article on the topic.

What is a switch port?
A switch port can belong to a VLAN. Unicast, broadcast, and multicast packets are forwarded and flooded out ports in the same VLAN. VLANs can also be used to enhance performance by reducing the need to send broadcasts and multicasts to unnecessary destinations.
Why are VLANs created?
In scenarios where sensitive data may be broadcast on a network, VLANs can be created to enhance security by designating a broadcast to a specific VLAN. Only users that belong to a VLAN are able to access and manipulate the data on that VLAN.
What is trunk port?
Trunk Port - The frames received on the interface are assumed to have VLAN tags. Trunk ports are for links between switches or other network devices and are capable of carrying traffic for multiple VLANs. Note: By default, all interfaces are in trunk mode, which means they can carry traffic for all VLANs.
What is an access port?
Access Port - The frames received on the interface are assumed to not have a VLAN tag and are assigned to the specified VLAN. Access ports are used primarily for hosts and can only carry traffic for a single VLAN.
