My mother had the same problem after planting those oh-so-pretty yellow evening primrose. She finally began offering some to everyone who visited. After a few years when she couldn't give them away any more, she began ripping them out. Good luck with those four o'clocks!

The billions of seeds will eventually sprout, and are not so bad, except for their numbers. The tubers have to be pulled out, unless someone here knows of a cure (I'm hoping). There are billions of seeds, and thousands of tubers. I thought we got them all, but not even close. Sun, I picked the area clean.

The bad news is the seeds can lay dormant for years, evidently, if my yard is any indication. I'm still pulling seedlings on a patch where I had a large plant that was dug up three years ago. The only cure is to keep pulling them. It's sad, but that's the way it is.

I think your only choice is going to be persistence. (either that or take John's advice). I have found the sprays like roundup don't work very well with tubers.
