Hi Ted, the spring collets can be a bit stiff when they’re new, so it may take some effort to insert. There should be an eccentric retaining ring on the inside of the nut. This can hinder insertion of the collet if it isn’t lined up properly. I would also check to make sure that the new collet isn’t out of spec.
