Downloaded and installed the new release of Raspberry OS (release dated Jan 28, 2022). My problem is it won't wake up after it goes to sleep.

Have you tried disabling the screen saver? Preferences, Raspberry Pi Configuration, Display, set Screen Blanking to Disabled (move slider to left)

LOL!! That is what I did for the short time. However, I should NOT have to do that. Everything should work as good or better than the previous release. I use to work with IBM back in and after the card punch days. When something didn't work after a release, frequently they called it a feature, not a problem. Is this one of those features?

I may not have the best logic in town, but, it seems to me, IF they wanted us to NOT us to use the screen saver feature, they would have turned it off . Remember that this is a brand new install. How many folks installing this new release will be frustrated with the new release when they have to reboot because the screen saver kicked in?

I have a Pi 4 running plain Bullseye install that has a wireless mouse (only, no keyboard) attached. That screen blanks and wakes up with a wiggle of the mouse as you'd expect. The only thing I've changed in raspi-config is to enable a GPIO controlled fan.
