
- Measure the length you need and masking tape up where you need to cut it
- Cut with a hand saw
- Line up the kitchen plinth to the kitchen base unit legs and mark with a pencil in the centre where they fall
- Pre-drill and screw the plinth clips on the back of the kitchen kickboards and push on
- Repeat when going around the corner of your kitchen.

How to install plinth clip back plinths?
Now that your units have feet on them and are now level, lay the plinth in front of the cabinets and mark the centre of the leg on the plinth, then draw a line down the centre of the plinth to give you 2 cross sections (4). You now have the points to which you will be attaching the plinth clip back plates in a moment.

What Wood Should I Use for Fitting a Plinth?
In my case, I had lots of spare gloss white kitchen plinth leftover from when our kitchen was fitted a few years ago. I don't like throwing any wood away as you never know when it might come in handy!
How far from the bottom lip do you mark the bottom lip?
I personally marked about half way (about 6cm from the bottom lip) on each of the straight lines I'd created.

I placed masking tape roughly where I knew I'd need to cut. This helps my pencil marks more visible and prevents chipping.

I've got a L shaped bath, and the panel is plastic. Both the top and bottom (and sides) have a lip that is approx 3-4cm deep which are completely flat. So if you were looking at the panel from the side there is an upside down L the hole way around.
Can you move a panel with silicon?
Could you expand on that. Silicone is great for ensuring they can't move but even after you have cut it all away, you still have to be able to pull the panel towards you which is difficult when you can't get behind it.
Fitting the plinth

Side return plinths
Finally, when fitting side return plinths, fit the plinth clips to the plinth in the previously mentioned way, making sure to fit the clips above the centre of the plinth. This will prevent the front clips from clashing as shown below (6).
