How many circles should I use for a fidget spinner?

So, as I mentioned previously, this could be between 9 and 16 circles. Start by gluing at least 9 together and smushing them together the best you can. Lay them down with your design and see how much it sticks up. You can even assemble the fidget spinner without the glue and see how well it spins. If it gets stuck, you need more circles. If it wobbles a lot, you have too many circles.

How to make finger pads?

For the finger pads, glue two stacks of 5 circles together. Glue around the edges. Push them together between wax paper and then glue on your decorations. To help with your grip on the finger pads DO NOT put mod podge on top of those designs. It will make it more slippery and their purpose is to help you grip it better.

How to keep a mod podge in place?

Once they are all together, put on the decorative/design pieces. Put it between two pieces of wax paper and press down to make sure it stays together. I recommend also spreading mod podge along all the exposed edges for extra stability. Spread some mod podge on top of the design also to keep it in place.

How to keep stencils in place?

To keep the stencil in place, try pushing a toothpick through the center of it and slightly into the cardboard. The cardboard or foam board you choose should be less than 1⁄2 inch (1.3 cm) thick. This will be sturdy enough to be a durable spinner, while also being easy to hold in one hand. 3.

Cut out 2 small circles of cardboard or foam. Find a small circular object, such as a penny or another small coin, that can sit comfortably in the center of your spinner. Place it on a piece of cardboard or foam, draw around it, and cut it out. Repeat the process so that you have 2 evenly sized circles.

How to tell if a circle is close to the spinner base?

Make sure that the circle is very close to the spinner base, but not quite touching it.You should be able to see a sliver of light through the gap, but it should be very small.

Step 1: Step 1: Design

The first step is getting a good design thats big enough to hold your AAA's and small enough to fit in your hand well. Again I really recommend you read my other instructable as it will show you how and why I make all these different sketches. So if you have any questions please refer to it before asking them in the comments.

Step 2: Step 2: Manufacturing

You need to make about 36 prints of the design you just created. Once you've done that you need to glue them all together. The most important thing to keep in mind while gluing them together is to make sure their all aligned.

Step 3: Step 3: Electronics

Once the frame is dry you need to add your battery holder guts and place your LEDs in their holes like in the first picture. Make sure that when you put the batteries in their holders that the batteries will be arranged in series. Basically what that means is that the positive end of one battery touches the negative end of the next battery.

Step 4: Step 4: Redesign

Now that you have your fidget spinners body done all you need to do is make the whole thing look a bit better. To do that you need to conceal all that messy circuitry by making some caps. To do this simply take your original design and remove the holes made for your batteries.

Step 5: Step 5: Cover Up

While it would be nice to just glue these caps on and be done that would mean you couldn't replace the batteries when they died then your spinner would be done. However AAA do last for a while especially if they're powering something as little as an LED.

Step 6: Step 6: Finishing Up

The last thing you need to do is put a center in your spinner so you can hold on to something. To make this thing you need to take a strip of duct tape and fold it over and over again until it's thick enough to fit snugly in the center of your bearing.
