As with any great craft, there is a learning curve. When starting this project, I had every intention of placing the beads along the outside of the bowl covered in oil to hold beads in place and using ironing paper.

Make Your Own Amazing Perler Bead Bowl

These bright and cheerful melted Perler bead bowls are so easy a three-year-old can make them! Actually, our three-year-old DID make these. Tomorrow our six and eight-year-olds want to make some too because they felt like they missed out on ALL the fun!

Step 2: Making the Bowl

Pour some vegetable oil into your bowl (base) and spread around with a paper towl. Pour in the perler beads and spread them out by lightly "punching" the center of the pile until it forms a wall. Keep adding beads to your liking.

Step 3: Baking Time

After you've created your wall of beads inside the bowl it's time to bake it. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Let it bake until the beads look shiny and wet. Once finished take out of the oven (CAREFUL IT WILL BE HOT). If you want to speed up the cooling process you can stick it in the freezer for about 15 minutes (just to be safe)

Step 4: Finishing Up

Once you've let it cool you should be able to pull the bead bowl out of your oven safe bowl. It might be oily so you can run it under some cool tap water. You can glaze it with so e triple thick or sculpt gloss glaze to give it a shiny look.

Start by spraying your oven safe bowl with the cooking oil. This keeps your Perler bowl from sticking to your oven safe bowl so make sure you get the whole bowl covered. I used a 1 quart mixing bowl because I wanted a create a bowl that I could hold a few candies in. It really doesn’t matter the size of the bowl, it just needs to be oven safe.
