Since I don't think these beds will make it too long, I didn't even try and make the effort to sew them. If these pups can destroy a factory made heavy duty chew proof expensive bed, then they can absolutely destroy my best efforts at sewing. Hot glue it is! My hot glue gun is one of my favorite possessions.

Stuff the fiberfill in through your open side to the fluffiness of your liking. I didn't get too fluffy with it since I am prepared to be picking this up in a million different pieces off my floor one day.
Step 4
Once you have fluffed till your heart's content, hot glue your 4th side together.

Tada! A quick and easy dog bed. It only took about 30 minutes and cost $4. And the best part is they are no sew! I like the variation in shades of the prints, but that is up to you. You can use heavier/lighter/different paint to suit your taste. Or your sweet puppy's personality.
Finding the Right Dresser Drawer
I purchased this dresser drawer from my friend Lisa @leeleelovesvintage. Lisa is an antique dealer so I took a quick trip to her warehouse to see what she had. I found this small vintage drawer and knew it would be perfect! For this project, any drawer would do you just want to make sure it is big enough for your pup.
Changing the Hardware
After cleaning the drawer I decided to change the hardware. I bought these crystal drawer pulls which work well! I simply unscrewed the original pulls and with my screw driver add the new ones. So simple!
Giving the bed a lift
I wanted to give the bed a lift and was able to do so with these unfinished bun feet from Lowes. The feet came with a pre-installed screws attached. With a pair of pliers we were able to remove the large screw. With E6000 Glue I glued to feet to the bottom of the drawer in the 4 corners.
Matching the feet to the bed
I painted the feet using Fusion mineral paint in the color Casement. Casement is a nice bright white but once the paint was dry I noticed the white on the feet looked too bright for the old drawer color. I decided to tone the feet down a bit by adding some Annie Sloan Clear and Dark Wax.
The Insert
This small drawer size ( ) is perfect for a comfy throw pillow. I found this one at Christmas Tree Shops. It fits perfectly and has a zipper with a removable cover for when I want to toss it in the washer machine, best of all, no sewing machine required. Alternatively you can use an old pillow, pieces of fabric, fleece fabric would work as well!
Variations and Special Considerations
Insert Options: Think comfy! Any type of pillow (firm pillows work well ) or cushion, old t-shirts wrapped around a pillow, a piece of memory foam with an old sweater, old fleece blankets or an old blanket, etc. If the bed is large enough you may find a pre-made cushion-style dog bed ( or huge pillow!) that would fit right in the drawer.
How to measure fleece for a pillow?
If your pillow measures 20″ X 30″ you need two pieces of fleece that measure 24″ X 34″. Use a measuring tape to find the size of your pillow by measuring from side to side (both vertically and horizontally). Cut your fleece to the correct measurement.

Step Three: Using your scissors simply cut into the fleece approximately every inch. In other words, cut 3-1/2 to 4″ into your fleece at 1″ apart. You will automatically create the squared-out corners as you cut.
