1. Find a Drop-Off Location

Before you start, see if there is a local chapter near you accepting physical Shoebox donations. Most Local Chapters are not collecting Shoeboxes beyond the holiday season. Visit their page to see how you can support their efforts throughout the year.

2. Find an Empty Shoebox or Gift Box

Please use standard-sized Shoeboxes, not oversized boot boxes or child-sized boxes. We want everyone to receive a gift similar in size and value.

3. Decorate Your Empty Shoebox

Please wrap the top and bottom of the Shoebox separately. If you have trouble, watch a tutorial.

5. Write an Inspirational Message

Women who receive a gift from The Shoebox Project are touched by the effort that goes into decorating the Shoebox as well as the special cards, messages, and poems contained inside. Get creative and have fun!

6. Drop It Off

For physical Shoebox donations, please check your local chapter's page for drop-off details. Make sure to find out if there is a deadline!

If your local chapter isn't accepting physical Shoeboxes this holiday season, or you want to give a Shoebox gift during the rest of the year, we are also accepting Virtual Shoeboxes. You can create these from the comfort of your home all year long!
