Step 1
Cut out two diamond-shape pieces from the red felt. Make them the size you would like your horns to be. Note that the horns will be half the size of the diamond shape.
Step 2
Fold each diamond-shape felt piece on either side of the top of the head band so that the horns will sit on top of your head.
Step 3
Glue down one side of each horn so that you have an opening on the other side. Wait for the glue to dry before going to the next step.
Step 4
Stuff each horn with the toy stuffing or rags and then glue the other side of the horn up. Wait for the glue to dry before wearing.
Step 5
Decorate your horns by gluing on sequins or glitter. You don't have to decorate them you could just leave them plain if you wish.
1. Melt the polymorph
Start by putting a small bit of the polymorph into a Tupperware dish. I found that a handful of it was enough to make two horns.
2. Mold the horns
Then you want to squeeze the polymorph together and then start rolling it between your hands to form a little sausage shape.
3. Make some indentations
As it starts to set, you’ll see that the surface becomes a little bit squidgy but will start to harden. Use your fingers to press your fingerprints into them, which will add a lot of texture to the horn. Then create some ridges to give it more of a bone effect.
4. Put the horns in cold water
Once you’re happy with your shape, you’re going to place the DIY devil horns into some cold water, which will help set the plastic. You’ll know once it’s set because it goes completely white, it’s no longer translucent.
5. Paint the DIY devil horns
I chose to paint my horns with alcohol-activated paints as I know they’re going to be waterproof. I mixed two flesh tones to create a bone color, and I’m going to use this all over my horn; this will be the horn’s base color.
DIY devil horns tutorial
That is how you can make your own DIY devil horns for Halloween. When I applied them to my forehead, they stuck with no problem, they didn’t come off, and they weren’t uncomfortable to wear. I’m so happy with how they turned out! Happy Halloween!
Step 1: Total Preparation Time and Goods Needed
OK so a friend of mine didn't know what to do for Halloween. Me being a makeup artist, made some horn props for him. 1. Total preparation time for this project was roughly 4 hours. 2. Buy some modelling clay from your local stationery store or craft store. I used else cheapo clay that air dries in 24 hours.
Step 2: Mould the Clay
1. Mould the clay into your desired shape with your hands. Make sure to take 2 equal sized clay blobs so the horns are symmetrical. 2. Take your desired tool to add character once you've smoothed out the horn with your fingers, and softly and gently stroke the horn from bottom to top.
Step 3: 3. Let It Air Dry
LET Them dry outside for about 3 hours or so. Even though it stated 24 hours, mine dried fast because they were so small. Follow your clays instructions for optimum results.
Step 4: 4. Paint the Horns
OK.. So I'm arty. But it doesn't take a skilled artist to paint the horns realistically. All I did was blend the colours nicely to give it a good effect. If you're not sure how to make it look realistic... Google to give you some ideas.
