Are you using the original key that came with the car? The chip in that key may have gone bad. Try using the spare key that should have come with the purchase of the car. make sure your battery connections are clean .. take the cables off the battery and clean them well. also trace the ground to see where it goes and see if it is tight ... If a battery tester or load tester is available test that battery while you are at it .. thanks Jerry and holler if you need more ..

call a locksmith. There is a chamber inside the lock for the gas cap that has a code on it. From that code, they can create a new key for you that will open your trunk.
