I wouldn't really use mine outside the shop either but just don't like the hassle of a cord. Always gets in the way and is a trip hazard if not careful. corded is nice because you dont gotta charge batteries. just plug it in and go.

I don't post much round' here, but I think I can weigh in on this. I have been using my Makita tracksaw for 8 years now and it is definitely one of my favorite tools to use. It does the job great. My work recently got the DeWalt so I've put a few mile on that one too.

I love my Makita track saw, been using it for a year now and do not know what I would do without it. I use the table saw a lot less now. With that said. I will be buying the FlexVold DeWalt when it becomes available. I run the FlexVolt table saw now and will be picking up the miter saw. It just makes sense. Plus I like cordless tools.

Anyone used this/have any thoughts, looking around a tool shop and talking about door-trimmers. The de-walt rep was there and was showing me this, says the guide rail can fit to the door in situ, and used as a door trimmer, couldn't quite get my head round it without seeing it used. Looks a pretty versatile tool though.

Went in to get one today, chickened out, the spare blades are £40 a pop, on my ancient door trimmer the blade I had, would cut through anything, nails in bottom of door etc, apparently theres nothing similar to fit on a plunge saw? If you guys cut doors with a plunge or circular saw what blades do you use and how long do they last? BTW the de-walt was £300 + vat including 2 guide rails, and a pair of clamps that fit onto/into the rails..

You should be able to use any other brand of blade mate, as long as the blade diameter and bore are correct. Also more teeth means cleaner cuts. Try feud or trend blades for an alternate to dewalts own.

I’ll give you that it’s a hair too short but I rip 8’ sheets regularly. There’s a finite amount of wiggle room to set the track on a 8’ rip for it to work properly. Takes a few minutes to figure out but once you do, mark your track so it’s easily setup next time. Quote

I had a third track for crosscuts while having two joined together, would probably still work out cheaper than buying a long festool track which the Dewalt saws work on, now I have the makita 36v track saw and do the same thing with the short tracks
