I used Kiwigrip on my cockpit floor and a couple of sections of deck. So far the stuff has been great. Easy to use, good traction, but I am having a hard time keeping it clean. Any suggestions on products that may help get it clean?

pogen

Same experience here. It really grabs the dirt. Probably the same action that lets it grab your shoes. Boat soap and a soft brush produce only so-so results.

Ultraman

Same here. My new Kiwi Grip deck job has great traction but looks dirty after only a few days on the boat. I need to use the hard bristle hand brush in the cockpit to have any effect and it still looks dirty. Good news with Kiwi Grip is you can keep painting over it...

I have used bleach and it does not seem to work any better than other detergents. I am going to try using Simple Green this weekend. It seems like the Kiwi Grip absorbs dirt/any sort of that might be on your feet etc.?

Touch of Gray

Yep, seems to grab the fines. Initially was quite bothersome as it hadn't set up quite yet when we took delivery. Now less so. I think Simple Green/Orange doing the trick. Also a soft bristle brush on a handle. Don't want to use more aggressive stuff (bleach, hard bristle) with the other new finishes and windows. (Oh, light grey)

32 hours ago  · If cleanablity trumps traction, I recommend a gentle (or at least more gentle) texture. In the case that you've already KiwiGripped your decks, you can improve cleanablity by lightly sanding off the KiwiGrip peaks. This will allow soft bristles from your deck brush to sweep into the valleys. Of course, you give up a bit of traction along the way.
