Silicone spray!!!!! It is the best. I used that, after my son fell head first off a slide because his shoes stuck at the top....Silicone spray stopped that from happening, and doesn't need re-applying very often.

I remember when I was a kid, we would use wax paper to go down the slide. We would just sit on a big piece of it and it was like going down a water slide. It also seemed to help lubricate the slide.

Sure is and you probably already have it in you kitchen! Give them each a piece of wax paper and have them sit on it when they go down the slide. After sliding a couple time each with the wax paper under their bottoms they won't need it anymore. Be sure to keep an eye on the little one because the slide might get to slick.

You didn't say if the slide is metal or plastic but we used to use car wax on ours...the more coats the better...but it was metal.

You might try Future Floor Wax. It's liquid and you can apply it thinly with a sponge. It's some kind of acrylic and it dries hard and shiny. If you want to remove it just use ammonia diluted with water. If there is a greener alternative by all means use it, but I used Future for a couple of projects years ago and I thought it was pretty neat.
