Why does my homedics humidifier shut off after 5 min?
Mine would stop because the float that shuts it off when the water is too low did not float high enough. There is a little cap that pulls off, then a white ring that has a small magnet in it. Take that off and put a nylon washer on the stem first, then the magnet ring, then replace the cap.

Chances are it is just condensation not leakage if it's only wet when its running. Nothing you can do except put a towel under it.

I had the same problem. Looked up the manual online. Red light indicates water level is low I had just refilled the tank so that was not the problem but manual said to make sure water tank was firmly, securely seated on base.

I have a Cool Mist Homedics Ultrasonic humidifier, Model UHE-OC1A that has stopped working...I have cleaned it, the small lights go on when turned on, but no mist is coming out ... ???
In the bottom of the humidifier is a little disk that vibrates to turn water to vapor. This gets covered in mineral deposits and won't vibrate properly. They usually suggest something like vinegar to clean it. I found that this didn't work for me. What did work was cleaning it with my Waterpic on the highest setting.
