Can you stay at Esalen?
Guests are welcome to stay as a personal retreat without booking a workshop. Opt for this, and you're free to wander throughout the property's beautiful 27 acres, book a massage, lounge in the site's cliff-hugging soaking tubs heated by natural hot springs, and enjoy meals featuring ingredients from the onsite garden.
Is there Internet at Esalen?
Wireless internet is available in the lodge anytime other than mealtimes, when it automatically disables so we can enjoy the food and community mindfully.

At this time the hot springs are only open to guests with reservations to be at Esalen. We are not accepting reservations for public night bathing.

Esalen uses Scrub Free Bathroom Cleaner and EcoLab Peroxide Multi Surface Cleaner and Disinfectant, which meet EPA guidelines and are effective against viruses, bacteria and other pathogens. We keep daily cleaning logs, which are inspected regularly by management, using the following guidelines:
Does Esalen have cell service?
Esalen is located approximately 45 miles from "civilization," and there is currently no cell coverage. Should you need to get in touch with someone off campus, there are three pay phones that work with quarters, a calling card, or a prepaid minutes plan. We do not sell calling cards.
Does Esalen have a doctor?
The nearest pharmacy is 40 miles away in Carmel, so make sure to bring prescription medications and any other medically-necessary items with you. Esalen does not have an on-call doctor, and there are no other medical services available on site.
