How to get there
Portland International Airport is located about an hour and a half drive from Mt. Hood Meadows. When coming from Portland , you have the option to either take a luxury coach bus or Portland’s Premier Ski and Mountain Shuttle Service, both of which will drop you off in front of the main lodge.

What is the name of the mountain in Multnomah?
While some claim the Multnomah name for Mount Hood was Wy'east, the name was possibly inspired by an 1890 work of white author Frederic Balch, although Balch does not use it himself. In one version of Balch's story, the two sons of the Great Spirit Sahale fell in love with the beautiful maiden Loowit, who could not decide which to choose. The two braves, Wy'east and Pahto (unnamed in his novel, but appearing in a later adapation), burned forests and villages in their battle over her. Sahale became enraged and smote the three lovers. Description
In the summers of 2019 and 2020, Mt. Hood Meadows staff worked on creating eight miles of new trails inside the ski resort’s permit area in consultation with the Forest Service. The trails also connect with the existing Umbrella Falls and Timberline trails.
