Golden rule with plastic is don't use if you can not access the joint in future, and 90% of my work is exactly that, so it's soldered copper for most of my work and plastic where it can't be seen mainly in attics.

main get out is,,,has the joint/s been tested to 10 bar for 10 minutes ? this is a very good test as most houses only get to 2.5/3 bar, and thats a good pressure, so if a joint was holding at 10 bar, it will hold for 25 years.

i was using flo plast push fit last year , had a couple of leaks , stopped using them, one leak through a ceiling ! anyway had another this year from a fitting installed last year , rang flo plast they admitted they had a problem with a batch of O rings, reacting with copper, no probs on plastic pipe, they paid out for remedial work and new carpet etc , was surprised but good on them for taking responsibility.

I attend a leak this week where the installation is not more than two years old. Pipe cut not square and wrong insert and no engagment on fitting suprised it had lasted as long as it had.
