How long does it take for a tympanic membrane perforation to heal?

As mentioned above, tympanic membrane perforations typically heal on their own, leading to a favorable prognosis. Studies have shown small TM ruptures have a high likelihood of spontaneous closure over a three to four week period.  Another study found there is a 90% rate of closure over a 6 week period.

How long does it take to heal a ruptured eardrum?

Treatment of eardrum rupture varies from person to person. Some individuals require no treatment, while others may need to have surgical repair the eardrum. It takes several weeks (about two months) for a ruptured eardrum to heal. Most people will not lose all of their hearing, however, rarely, hearing loss may occur in the damaged ear.

What is a perforated tympanic membrane?

A ruptured eardrum, also known as a perforated tympanic membrane, is a hole or a tear in the eardrum. The eardrum is a thin tissue that separates the ear canal from the middle ear. A ruptured or perforated eardrum is a hole or tears in the eardrum (tympanic membrane).

What happens when the tympanic membrane ruptures?

When the tympanic membrane perforates, it may no longer create the vibrational patterns, leading to hearing loss in some instances. Tympanic membrane rupture can occur at any age, although it is mainly seen in the younger population, associated with acute otitis media. As a patient's age increases, trauma becomes a more likely cause of TM rupture.

It depends on the extent injury. I've had a lot of injections in my ears and that will usually take less than two weeks to heal. In fact it will start healing within days for most people. I would expect larger perforations would take longer to heal, but eardrums are pretty good at healing themselves.

I don't know if this may ever heal. Have you had improvement? If it's bad enough (which I doubt it is considering the doc said it's fine), then you COULD get a "ear reconstruction surgery" to have your eardrum fixed. Just know there may be some options.

If its that much bad injury, my hearing will be severely distorted ,rgt? I personally feel iam getting better but when getting depressed or thinking too much, ringing shoots up. Also have a sensation of sharp shooting pain in my ears at times.

Pushing the jawline makes it reduce for me too. For me it's because I have a misaligned jaw. Maybe it's correcting something in your eardrum for you. Definitely get a second opinion.

I also noticed that turning my neck to its limit increases the sound and pushing the jawline makes it reduce.
