So I'm a recent new scribe working for ScribeAmerica. I just recently finished floor training this past week and I was initially hired around late May to begin virtual training. At the time I told my Ambassador that I was looking at a 1 year commitment as I was planning to take a gap year.

I was originally supposed to work for ScribeAmerica as I signed all the paperwork and everything and even did the training. But after I completed the training, my manager basically ghosted me and it has been over a month since my intended start date, and I've yet to hear anything from any management.

i've seen a lot of posts regarding SA's noncompete, and i've even seen one post saying their ED was looking to move in-house, but just wondering if anyone has done this successfully? i'm chief of an ED and a few OP facilities and our hospital is currently looking to cut our contracts with SA and move in house.

Just received an interview with multiple times to attend and choose from. There are also 40 people attached to these invites and I was wondering how this will work. Are they interview one by one? Also, some are accepting all invites from SA and some are declining. Should I just check off “yes” for the one I can attend?

So now when you start to factor in all the cost of training the scribes, the regulations imposed by the government, the cost of salaried and nonclinically working employees, etc, the company really cannot afford to increase the rate they are giving to their employees. The entry level scribe position is not meant for the long-term. They offer plenty of advancement opportunities with increase in pay for individuals who enjoy the company but not the pay.
Is Scribing a good career?
It is very hard to generalize how worthwhile or meaningful scribing will be for an individual, because a lot of it is based on the dynamics of your particular site, scheduling, and coworkers/supervisors. Personally, I've worked at SA for about 2 years and have liked it a lot. I look forward to work every day, and scribing has been my major confirmation that I like being in the clinic all day and that medicine is a good career path for me.
