Where are the Broward dorms?

These dorms are a bit older and definitely show their age since they haven’t been renovated in over twenty years. Broward is located next to Gilchrist, while the other three are lined up behind Suwanee Room (which is great if you plan on purchasing a meal plan). This location can be super convenient if you expect to have classes in Diffenbaugh, Dodd Hall, or the Williams Building since these can be a trek from the other dorms. These dorms are also a short walk away from Dunkin’ and Skoolers.

When was Dorman and Deviney built?

This dorm is intended for honors students, but some non-honors freshmen find a spot here for the summer. Architecturally, I think Landis is the most beautiful dorm. Do dorms have kitchens?

This is the dorm I wish I lived in. I don’t have a meal plan and totally regret not looking for a dorm with a personal kitchen (all dorms have communal kitchens, but they’re often occupied). These dorms are apartment-style with private rooms. Though they’re often occupied by upperclassmen, some freshmen get lucky and find a spot here.

LAndis

Landis is, without a doubt, the prettiest building on campus. It’s located on the famous Landis Green. Built in 1939, it is one of the biggest dorms on campus and designed especially for Honors students.

ragans

Ragans is another apartment-style dorm. You do have to share rooms, but you have a kitchen inside your room instead of down the hall. Ragans is located right across from the on-campus movie theater and counseling services, giving it a fun location and vibe.

bryan

Bryan Hall is literally the oldest building on campus and looks like a castle. It’s less than a two-second walk to Suwannee Dining Hall and has a very close-knit community. This building is only four stories tall but has two separate LLCs: The New Nole and First Gen College students.

wildwood

Wildwood is known for being the closest dorm to Doak Campbell Stadium. It’s right across the street from the stadium, Leach Gym and the Campus Rec office. It also happens to be right across from the Marching Chiefs practice field, so get ready for hearing the marching band EVERY day.

McCollum

Now, I might be a little biased because McCollum was my freshman dorm. The building isn’t pretty, it’s the only dorm not to be made of brick, and the location is not accessible to the rest of campus. But I LOVED my time here. This dorm offers a TON of space. The efficiency-style apartments give you an entire room and kitchen to yourself.

When roommates are unable to resolve a situation on their own, a mediator is called upon to help. In mediation, an objective person, usually a University Housing staff member, acts as a referee to ensure that strong feelings do not hinder the process and that roommates follow the rules. In the extreme cases in which mediation fails, arbitration will be used. In this process roommates agree beforehand to honor the arbitrator's decision.
