There are 7 versions of the Hesi test and each version itself has 3 tests within itself. For example: V-1a, V-1b, V-1c, V-2a, V-2b, V-3c, etc. Our school had all 7 versions and I was lucky I got Version 2 cause some of my classmates who had Version 1 failed.

There are 4 HESIs (exit). A school can request that 3 additional versions be created if it wants. The questions do not stay the same in each version from year to year; the questions move around. I don't know for sure how often the questions are moved around but I know they are actively trying out 15 new questions with each test, questions that don't count towards the score. They are randomly placed within each test.
Is HESI hard?
HESI is really hard, but I know a few people who have passed and they studied Saunders and 3500. It worked for them, but not me

I did take "exit" hesi's for block 2 & 3, bit they were customized to my school's specs & they were likely completely different than the one you took.
Why should I buy a program that has questions?
I would suggest buying a program that has questions. This makes it easier to keep track of how many you have done and some programs are tailored to change the questions/help you. Also they have good rationale. I cannot suggest one type because most are pretty good, you just need to commit to doing the questions. I used these:
Should I know my content for the nurse exam?
You should ALWAYS know your content to be a competent/knowledgeable nurse however in studying for this particular exam I just realized that practice questions are the way to go.
Does Hesi have a RN exit?
Hesi has customized exams available for each block of nursing school, and a standard " rn exit" hesi for block 4 that's standardized across the country (but has multiple test versions, so you don 't get the same test if you re-take it).
