How much is it to walk Longwood Gardens?

Should I purchase tickets in advance of my visit? Can I pick them up in advance of my visit? Yes. We recommend buying tickets before you arrive at the Gardens. We often sell out during busy seasons such as A Longwood Christmas, and most special events sell out in advance.

Timed Ticketing

What is timed ticketing? Timed ticketing offers reserved times to enjoy our displays and exhibits. With a timed ticket, a pre-established number of guests enter during each interval, allowing guests to enjoy shorter lines and a better viewing experience. Timed tickets are required for admission.

Weather

What happens in case of inclement weather? Visiting our Gardens is a largely outdoor experience, and most of our events are rain or shine. We will make every effort to hold outdoor events and performances as scheduled.

Parking

Does Longwood have parking facilities? Is it free? Parking at Longwood is free. There may be a substantial walk from your car to the Visitor Center, although it is possible to drop passengers off at the Visitor Center then park the car.

Is it outdoors? Visiting our Gardens is a largely outdoor experience. Indoor experiences include our 4-acre Conservatory, the historic Peirce-du Pont House, the Webb Farmhouse & Galleries, The Terrace, and our Visitor Center.

Accessibility

Is Longwood Gardens accessible for people with mobility or physical disabilities? Yes, our Gardens are easily accessible to guests with mobility or physical disabilities. There are 45 spaces reserved for handicapped parking at the front of the Parking Lot near the Visitor Center. Most restrooms and drinking fountains are wheelchair accessible.

Does Longwood Gardens accept donations?

Longwood Gardens accepts gifts from Donor Advised Funds (DA Fs) as payment for Membership dues, however the Member must waive all associated non-deductible Membership benefits, which includes Complimentary Guest Tickets.

Can you combine Young Adult Discount with any other offer?

Young adult discount cannot be combined with any other offer. Please present photo ID with Membership card (s) for entry into the Gardens. Click here for a full listing of Terms and Conditions. If you renew early, your new Membership will add 1 year to your current expiration date.

Do you need to buy tickets in advance for Longwood Gardens?

During this time, we are asking all guests to purchase Timed tickets or make Member reservations in advance.

What are timed tickets at Longwood Gardens?

With a timed Member reservation, you may enter the Gardens as early as 30 minutes before or as late as 30 minutes after your entry time. Late or early arrivals cannot be accommodated. Stay as long as you wish once you enter the Gardens. Guests not included in a Membership require a Timed Admission Ticket.

Can you stay at Longwood Gardens?

By booking the Longwood Package, guests can enjoy a 1-night stay and receive two general admission tickets to Longwood Gardens. For reservations, call 610.388. 1200 and mention the “Longwood Gardens Package.”

How many pools are there in the Botanical Gardens?

Absolutely beautiful botanical gardens with miles of walking paths, many with shade, many with sun. There are 2 pools of water with shows, each about 5 minutes, with music synchronized to the jets of water, similar in nature to the Bellagio in Las Vegas. There are flowers everywhere, that both look and smell beautiful. They follow CDC guidelines, no masks if you are vaccinated, and no test; they trust you.

How many tulips are blooming in spring?

The spring flower blooming season is in full display. At this time, there are 200,000+ tulips at their peak opening period. Walking just this portion of the magnificent gardens will consume about one hour of time and reservations for a specific time of visit are required. Having season tickets enables multiple visits during the year to be comparatively inexpensive. The flower displays are always changing so something new to see throughout the year. Self-serve wheel chairs are available for persons who are unable to walk the paths.

How far in advance can you cancel a trip on TripAdvisor?

Buy tickets in advance on Tripadvisor. If you book with Tripadvisor, you can cancel at least 24 hours before the start date of your tour for a full refund.

Is Longwood Gardens sold out?

I enjoyed my second visit to Longwood Gardens. The flowers, plants and Christmas displays/lights are pretty neat. It was sold out, but they do a pretty good job controlling the flow of people through the buildings (for the current covid concerns). Do the conservatory building in daylight and then later after dark. It is really different with the lighting. Pretty in both settings.

Can I apply my paid admission to my Membership if I decide to join?

Yes, you may apply a portion of your paid admission toward the cost of your Membership within 30 days of your dated receipt/ticket. The amount that you can apply depends on the category of Membership that you are purchasing. Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot apply this credit online. Please inquire by phone at 610.388.1000,* or stop by Ticketing & Member Services for specific details. *Phone processing fees do not apply to Membership purchases.

Can I pay for a Membership using a Donor Advised Fund?

Yes, Longwood Gardens accepts gifts from Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) as payment for Membership dues, however the Member must waive all associated non-deductible Membership benefits, which includes Complimentary Guest Tickets. Please note that the personal payment amount cannot be subtracted from the donor advised fund grant amount — bifurcated payments are not allowed.

Can I apply the concert ticket price to my Membership?

Concert nights are considered special event nights in the Gardens. You may apply a portion of a purchased non-Member ticket (s) to a new Gardens Preferred or Gardens Premium Membership. Up to 5 tickets may be applied when purchasing a Gardens Preferred Membership and up to 9 may be applied when purchasing a Gardens Premium Membership. Please ask a Guest Services Representative for details.

Do you offer any other types of discounted Membership?

We offer a Young Adult discount of $35 to Gardens1 Members who are ages 25 and under. Also, you may apply a portion of your paid admission toward the cost of your Membership within 30 days of your dated receipt/ticket. Please make sure we have your updated email address on file as we periodically send out special promotions by email. Discounts may not be combined.

Do the primary and secondary cardholders need to live in the same household?

The 2 cardholders do not need to live in the same household, but the benefits of being a Member extend to only those 2-named cardholders. Please keep in mind that all Membership correspondence and mailings will be sent only to the primary cardholder.

Do I have to have a secondary cardholder?

For certain Membership levels, a secondary cardholder is part of the package. Membership benefits extend only to named cardholders. If your Membership includes a secondary cardholder, we strongly recommend that you name a second cardholder to take advantage of all the benefits of the level of Membership you selected.
