Yes. Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties does offer scholarship assistance for children on free or reduced-price lunch to obtain a Club membership depending on availability and household income. Contact your Club to learn more about our fee assistance program.
Are you open during school breaks or holidays?
Clubs are open during Spring Break and school in-service/professional days during the School-Year Program. Clubs are closed for all major US holidays. Operating days and hours vary between Clubs. Contact your Club to find out more information about hours and closures.
What should my child bring with them?
Club members are encouraged to bring homework, sports clothing and any other necessary items for programmatic participation. Youth should not bring personal belongings of value and money into the Club. If it is a special circumstance, they can ask Club staff to stow away the item while they are at the Club and then collect the item upon departure. Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties is not responsible or liable for lost, misplaced, stolen or missing items.
Do Clubs have a summer program?
Yes. When school’s out, our Clubs are in. Our Summer Program provides thousands of children and teens with enriching educational, developmental and recreational programs each year. Clubs located in Sarasota and DeSoto Counties are generally open Monday through Friday during the summer from 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Programs vary by Club. Contact your Club for more information.
When do you receive a membership number for a child?
From there your child is welcome to come at any time. They will receive a Membership number when they check in for their first time.
What do kids bring to school?
Most kids bring a backpack with a sweatshirt, sneakers for the gym, snack, water bottle, homework and sometimes a book to read.

Timely Payment of Fees: Each month you are expected to pay all outstanding fees for the upcoming month for all children by the 15th of the previous month. Failure to pay your full outstanding balance by the 15th will result in forfeiting your child’s spot and service at the Club. Any outstanding balances must be paid in full prior to re-enrolling at the Club.

The waiting list is a first come first serve sequence. In the event you are the top of the waiting list, and a spot becomes available, you will be notified of the availability and have 48 hours to register and pay any fees before your slot will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.
