How long is a piece of string? Sita have produced a new route leaflet with the Florence>Poggibonsi bus & the Poggibonsi>San Gim buses combined (& Siena too): sitabus.it/sita-toscana/Fire... If you catch the 0815 bus you can theoretically be in San Gim for around 9.10 (traffic allowing for that connection). I haven't yet been to San Gim (I've focused on other trips from Florence) but I'm sure you can see enough in a couple of hours before catching the 1145 bus to Siena (arr 1250).
