How to contact BMCC counseling center?
The Counseling Center is currently able to provide services to BMCC students online via Zoom video chat, phone and e-mail. Students can contact the Counseling Center at [email protected] with any questions. A counselor will respond to you within 24 hours during open business hours, Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m -6 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. If a student knows who their counselor is, they can also email their counselor directly for information and to schedule a time to speak. The Counseling Center is also offering online group programs.
Is BMCC online in 2021?
To protect the health and well-being of all members of our community, BMCC will deliver the vast majority of instruction and support services from a distance in spring 2021. Over 98 percent of class sections will be delivered online; and nearly all support services including admissions, advising, tutoring, counseling, career development, the library, and the Advocacy and Resource Center will be delivered online. A limited number of services including the Panther Pantry, the Early Childhood Center and research labs will have reduced in-person hours. Access to the campus will be strictly limited to essential staff on a rotating basis, faculty and students in designated in-person classes, faculty and staff to pick up needed materials on a limited basis by appointment only, and students to use computer labs or study areas with appropriate distancing by appointment only.

Immunization
Currently COVID vaccination is required for students taking in-person classes at CUNY colleges. If you have not been vaccinated, please refer to the Reimagining BMCC site for vaccination locations. See our Health Services site for other immunization requirements.

Housing Options
BMCC is located in the neighborhood of TriBeCa, in downtown Manhattan. It can be difficult to find inexpensive housing in TriBeCa, so most of our students do not live within walking distance from the school. They live throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Some live in New Jersey.
Scam Awareness
Our Public Safety Department will help keep you safe when you are on the BMCC campus. They have compiled some information about scams under “ Updates ” on their website; the links there will provide you with more information to keep in mind as you negotiate housing and other issues after you arrive in the United States.
When is the deadline for CUNY?
The CUNY priority deadline for the Fall semester (which starts in August) is February 1 and the priority deadline for the Spring semester (which starts in January) is September 15. However, BMCC does accept late CUNY Applications and also usually hosts Direct Admissions on-site after the CUNY Application is no longer available.
What is direct admissions CUNY?
What is Direct Admissions? Direct Admissions is period after the CUNY application is no longer available, where applicants can apply exclusively to BMCC for the upcoming semester. You may apply online for direct admission, and then submit your transcripts to the BMCC Admissions Office to complete your application.
Does BMCC accept freshman?
Freshman: BMCC accepts all freshman applicants regardless of GPA as long as they have graduated high school or completed an equivalent program. Transfer: The minimum GPA requirement for all transfer applicants 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
Can I meet with an academic advisor before applying to BMCC?
While you cannot meet with an Academic Advisor prior to applying to BMCC, you can visit with an Admissions Specialist one-on-one to talk about your situation and see if BMCC is the right fit for you. Our Specialists can explain all the admissions requirements and answer any questions you may have prior to applying.
Do non-degree students have to fill out a new application every semester?
All Non-Degree students do not have to fill out a new application every semester just continue to register for classes the following semester. (If you miss a semester as a non-degree student you must fill out a Readmit application in the Registrar’s office room S-315)
Can I transfer to BMCC with a 2.0 GPA?
Transfer students with GPA’s lower than 2.0 may still be accepted to BMCC if they apply for special admission through the Second Chance Program. (Admission is not guaranteed through this program.) In addition, BMCC does not require any standardized test scores such as the SAT or ACT for Admission.
