The Seats

Pitch – the distance between one point on one seat to same spot on another seat.

The Layout

Now…these are from two different planes, but the comparison basically holds.

The Champagne

It is soooooooo crisp and fresh. Pointdexter says it’s like bathing nude in the blue lagoon. Which is an odd comparison because he doesn’t bathe nor has he been to the blue lagoon…

The amenity kits

Aromatherapy Associates products. And a lot of them. They feel very lux. Let’s be honest…Pointdexter couldn’t keep that fluff looking ON POINT if he didn’t use some product. I think he had a minor flip out there because there was no hairdryer on board.

Overall

First Class is a big upgrade to Business Class, but I’m not so sure I’d pay 50% more points. It really comes down to how long the flight lasts, how much you need to sleep on the flight, if you’re a light sleeper like me, and how many Miles you have.

Does Business Class go flat?

Yes, the Business Class seat goes flat, but it is thinner, which means less privacy when you are trying to sleep to the point that you can feel quite vulnerable to passing traffic on these thin seats. Of course, if you have a non-aisle seat, you will feel less vulnerable, but you do not currently get aisle access from a non-aisle seat, so you have to climb over neighbors to get out. This will change with the new BA Club Class seat design, but for now, this is a poor effort for Business Class and explains why British Airways comes quite low down in my top 10 Business Class Airlines. I am not a deep sleeper and the feeling of being trapped in my seat to avoid climbing over a neighbor during a flight, or even worse, having a neighbor climb over you mid-sleep means I do not sleep well in this class.
