My husband was in the hospital for 3 days with pneumonia in both lungs due to an infectious organism. After being treated with IV antibiotics for the 3 days, he was doing well and both lungs were clear. On the third day, he was released with a prescription for cefdinir 300 mg twice daily for 9 days.

DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!!! I was prescribed 300 mg 2x a day for 10 days for a double ear infection. First dose was last night. Extreme flushing, severe itching, and woke up every 1.5 hours. I didn’t put two and two together until my second dose today at work.

During that time I experienced multiple side effects: Headache, yeast infection, jerks when trying to sleep, insomnia, gas/bloating, side/stomach pain (I believe but cannot confirm to be from built up gas), and extreme anxiety.
