Chuze prides itself on being welcoming to all, affordable (basic memberships are $9.99/month; the most expensive membership is $39.99/month), and high quality. The affordability was what I had heard about before joining, so I assumed Chuze would be a bare bones gym, kind of like a Planet Fitness. Not so!
What do coaches do on the treadmill?
On the treadmills in Team Training, the coaches have you shift between your “cruise”, “more”, and “max” paces, plus add / remove incline on strength days. I really like that Chuze publishes a calendar outside the studio door showing the focus of workouts for the week (strength, endurance, power, etc) – it allows me to better plan my workouts when I know what’s coming.

Negatives of the job can be entitled and rude members, typical of any customer service job. There is a lot of cleaning in this position, but that is really to keep the gym environment clean.
Is Chuze a good place to work?
Chuze is a really fun place to work, but really depends on what coworkers you have! My team really cares for one another and is constantly looking out for each other. Management is great, does a great job training you and actually cares about their employees. Super active job.
Is cleaning all day good for college students?
The job is great for college students as it is very flexible with schedule. However, it seems as if the only way to advance is if the supervisors like you otherwise they will not be helping you get your pre-belts. The pay is very low for the work, your essentially cleaning all day for 13 bucks it seems like the work is unevenly distributed as some team members stay behind the desk most of the time and do not help with the cleaning tasks. Managers don't always have a relationship with you, favoritism is very real.
Do night crews get more pay?
If you work night crew you might get a little more pay than day crew but you have a lot more closing tasks (ex.: cleaning the locker rooms) than the day crew.
Is Chuze a good company?
Chuze has been a absolutely amazing company to work for with amazing human beings. I have never worked for a company that loves its people as much as Chuze does. They provide you the environment to be yourself and have fun at "Work". The culture they produce is amazing and that makes it a fun place to be. The most challenging thing to do is make everyone happy but when you are able to make that upset member happy that is a big win that is celebrated. They have your back. As a growing company they are working out the kinks by taking feedback from it's family. A lot is expected from the employees but it is very rewarding. Overall I love Chuze Fitness.
