An easy way to peel off the backing is tear the tape instead of cutting it. Tearing leaves an exposed edge allowing you to peel the protective liner. I used the tape to adhere an acrylic book rack to our mantle and brick fireplace. The rack is holding a 20 x 36 mirror. I also put the tape on the back of the mirror to hold it in place.

I feel compelled to write this review after seeing all these one star reviews. This stuff gets the job done! I have hung a bunch of stuff around the house with this and none of it has fallen. The backing is not really that hard to remove.

The tape is hard to peel off. I wasted a lot of product trying to peel off the plastic tape.
