Is Great Stuff foam fire-rated?
FEATURES: FIRE-RATED: GREAT STUFF PRO has been evaluated by ASTM E 814* in wood frame pipe penetrations. Conforms to the ASTM C557-93, D6464, CA25-4, and is UL Class 1 (Flame spread of 15, smoke of 20). Fills, seals and insulates gaps up to three inches.
Is Great Stuff Pro fire proof?
Great Stuff Pro Gaps and Cracks is also rated for fire protection just like Great Stuff Fireblock. It is even orange colored so that inspectors can easily identify it as fire-rated foam insulation and makes a great alternative fire-blocking material.
Can expanding foam catch fire?
The propellant gas used to dispense the foam (methylene-diphenyl-diisocyanate 4,4) is highly flammable. The gas is emitted from the foam as it expands and dries out. It is heavier than air, sinks and forms an invisible cloud. If an ignition source is present, the gas can catch fire, potentially with explosive force.
How much heat can great stuff handle?
The maximum use temperature for all Great Stuff™ products is 240°F, it is also combustible and will burn if exposed to temperatures above 240°F (116°C).
Can great stuff catch on fire?

Is Gap filling foam fireproof?
It's fire-rated for up to four hours too, and it has been graded B1, meaning it is hardly flammable. The foam fills any irregular gaps between joints, forming a tight seal that insulates against heat or cold.
Is spray foam flammable Once dry?
Once the foam is sprayed from the can, it immediately begins to cure and dry into a hard plastic. It sticks permanently to most surfaces, including skin. The can contains a quick reacting hazardous chemical, isocyanate, to form the non-hazardous plastic, and a highly flammable gas to force the product out of the can.
Can you use spray foam around fireplace?
To keep a fireplace working properly, never use spray foam on the inside of the fireplace or the chimney, or on the damper. On the exterior surfaces of the fireplace and chimney, spray foam is fine because these surfaces won't get hot enough to melt it or to cause any damage.
What temp does spray foam burn?
Even though it's heavily treated with fire-retardant chemicals prior to installation, it is a recognized fire hazard by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Spray foam insulation will ignite at 700°F.
