LAPD was a good place to work (most days). Good benefits, job security, working/helping the public. However, there was favoritism, some racist behavior, unproductive employees, poor management issues. But overall the good outweighed the bad....same issues are at most workplaces. The good cops outweighed the bad cops.

The department was in need of improvement within the rank and file staffing which has improved since my time there. As with a lot of large departments there is always room for improvement with race relations,better hiring practices that reflect the very communities that are being served.

Do not get run over by the big blue machine

Find another large department to work for where you are more then a serial number. Horrible pay, bad culture and climate. Only positive was the Training.
