Symptoms

Morgellons disease is an uncommon, poorly understood condition characterized by small fibers or other particles emerging from skin sores. People with this condition often report feeling as if something were crawling on or stinging their skin.

Causes

Secondly, fungus almost always accompanies a Morgellons infestation, either as a primary cause, or as a secondary opportunistic infection. Getting rid of fungus will improve the overall health of the person, even if the fungus is not the base cause of the Morgellons.

Complications

Just because the sores are self inflicted does not mean that the sensations or misery are caused by the brain. Morgellons that is identified as Collembola infestation is shown that the bug is attracted to the growth of fungus on the skin.

What is Morgellons disease?

Some people who suspect they have Morgellons disease claim they've been ignored or dismissed as fakers. In contrast, some doctors say that people who report signs and symptoms of Morgellons disease typically resist other explanations for their condition.

There are no standard treatment guidelines for Morgellons disease. Treatments vary depending on the underlying cause. Doctors may recommend antibiotic therapy if they believe that a person’s condition resulted from a bacterial infection or tick-borne illness.

Is Morgellons disease controversial?

Limited information is available on Morgellons disease, and the condition remains a controversial topic among researchers and healthcare professionals.

Is Morgellons disease a mental illness?

However, some healthcare professionals and researchers believe Morgellons disease results from a tick-borne bacterial infection, similar to Lyme disease. Others consider Morgellons disease to be a mental health disorder. Last medically reviewed on March 11, 2020. Dermatology.

How to treat Morgellons?

For Morgellons, we have found the most effective treatment is it take one Lufenuron capsule per day for 96 days. That catches any type of insect at every life stage, so if the Morgellons is being caused by an insect, then that source is removed. Catching an insect in the stage most susceptible to chitin inhibition is the secret to getting rid of them permanently. You must break the life cycle.

Why is Morgellons so difficult to treat?

Morgellons is particularly difficult to treat, partly because it is so misunderstood, or even ignored by doctors, and partly because there is not a good protocol guaranteed to work in every circumstance.

Why are there morgellons on my skin?

Morgellons that is identified as Collembola infestation is shown that the bug is attracted to the growth of fungus on the skin. That is why some people are affected, while others in the family are unaffected. Getting rid of the fungal source of food for the Collembola is the secret to getting the infestation under control.

How long does Lufenuron take to work on Morgellons?

For Morgellons, we have found the most effective treatment is it take one Lufenuron capsule per day for 96 days. That catches any type of insect at every life stage, so if the Morgellons is being caused by an insect, then that source is removed.

Do Morgellons have Lyme?

A majority of those Morgellons patients who have gotten better have been found to have Lyme , or its associated multi-bacterial and fungal co-infections, and are treated for those infections, reducing or eliminating the symptoms of Morgellons in the process.

Can Morgellons be diagnosed with Lyme disease?

There is some indication that Morgellons patients also typically have Lyme disease. Lyme is equal ly hard to diagnose, and often as ignored by doctors. Going to a Lyme Literate Doctor (LLD) would be a good first step in exploring this possibility. They are often more sympathetic to undiagnosed misery. They have patients that have suffered for years, while being ignored by the mainstream medical establishment. This will be nothing new to them. What is Morgellons similar to?

More research needs to be done on this finding. Morgellons also appears similar to a condition seen in cattle called bovine digital dermatitis, which is due to an infection, according to a 2011 study. But no conclusions can be reached from these small studies.

Where did Morgellons come from?

Most reports came from California, Texas, and Florida, although patients have been seen in all 50 states.

What are the symptoms of Morgellons?

What is Morgellons disease?

Morgellons disease (MD) is an emerging dermopathy with worldwide distribution. The name “Morgellons” is derived from a disease recognized in the seventeenth century in French children by Sir Thomas Browne. These children were noted to have “coarse hairs” protruding from their backs.1The distinguishing feature of MD is the appearance of skin lesions with filaments that lie under, are embedded in, or project from skin (Figures 1and and2).2). Filaments can be white, black, or brightly colored.2–6Fur thermore, MD patients exhibit a variety of manifestations that resemble symptoms of Lyme disease (LD), such as fatigue, joint pain, and neuropathy.2–6A study found that 98% of MD subjects had positive LD serology and/or a tickborne disease diagnosis,5confirming the clinical association between MD and spirochetal infection. Conversely, 6% of LD patients in an Australian study were found to have MD.7

What is the color of Morgellons fiber?

Microspectrophotometry reflectance data on fibers were consistent with patterns of pigmented tissues. Raman spectroscopy14on two separate blue fibers showed relevant peaks that were indicative of carbamate compounds and melanin aromatic rings (Shawkey MD, unpublished observation, 2016). Hence, independent studies using different methodologies provided evidence that Morgellons fibers are hairlike extrusions and that the blue coloration is the result of melanin pigmentation. Although the mechanism for coloration of red fibers is not yet understood, there are no known textile fibers colored by blue melanin pigmentation.11

What is the mechanism of Morgellons filament formation?

The precise mechanism of Morgellons filament formation has not been elucidated. In MD lesions, collagen and keratin filaments arise from proliferative keratinocytes and fibroblasts in human epithelial tissue.10,11Borreliahas the capability to invade fibroblasts and keratinocytes and to replicate inside these cells.21–23We speculate that infection and replication of Borreliawithin keratinocytes and fibroblasts alter keratin and collagen gene regulation. Furthermore, intracellular sequestration of Borreliamay be a factor contributing to the development of refractory infection and MD. Borreliaspirochetes have been isolated in vitro from monolayers of keratinocytes and fibroblasts that were treated with antibiotics.21,22Spirochetes were detected in MD dermatological tissue taken from patients who had been given aggressive antibiotic therapy.13Persistent infection and resistance to antibiotic treatment may therefore result from sequestration of Borreliaspirochetes within keratinocytes and fibroblasts in MD patients.

How long do lesions stay in the body?

Late localized: lesions/fibers present for more than six months and localized to one area of the body (head, trunk, extremities).

How long does it take for a lesions to be localized?

Early localized: lesions/fibers present for less than three months and localized to one area of the body (head, trunk, extremities).

Why is the false belief of parasitic infestation not genuinely delusional?

In these cases, the false belief of parasitic infestation is not genuinely delusional because patients are in fact misinterpreting symptoms caused by aberrant production of human biofibers. Furthermore, we find that electrostatic energy and mechanical energy can cause movement of filaments, interpreted by some patients as the movement of a living organism, and small insects such as fruit flies can adhere to open lesions, leading some patients to believe they are infested. If such patients do have a psychiatric condition such as OCD, then the false belief can be intensified or reinforced.

Is MD filament a textile?

Histological studies on MD tissue show that MD filaments are not textile fibers. They are biofilaments of human cellular origin produced by epithelial cells and stem from deeper layers of the epidermis, the upper layers of the dermis, and the root sheath of hair follicles.6,10,11Histological studies established that these filaments are predominantly composed of collagen and keratin,10,11and are nucleated at the base of attachment to epithelial cells,11thus demonstrating human cellular origin. Staining of embedded filaments with Congo red resulted in apple-green birefringence suggestive of an amyloid component, although this remains to be confirmed by more specific studies (unpublished data). Staining of embedded filaments with calcofluor-white produced negative results, demonstrating that filaments are not cellulose as found in cotton, linen, or other plant-based textile fibers, or chitin as found in fungal cells and insect exoskeletons (unpublished data).

Evidence and Examples of the Existence of Morgellons

In this American documentation of a Morgellons self-help group, it becomes clear under what strain those affected have to live. It can also be clearly seen that the Morgellon threads grow out of the skin:

Morgellons FAQ: Short question, short answer

Morgellons are parasitic fungi which form a systemic mycelium in the human body, which injures the skin and grows out of it can.

Can Morgellons be proven?

It’s now my belief that Morgellons is what Alzheimer’s patients have and can likely be proven with post mortem brain slices perhaps from dogs, and the miracle grow stuff in our air is slowly but continually being electrolyzed in our brains and bodies perhaps in specific or targeted areas.

Did Morgellons ever hear of Morgellons?

His reaction like most was quite mild but had never heard of Morgellons and knew not of what this would mean in his future. He did the ostrich thing like everyone (another observed neurological symptom), if you don’t recognize a problem, it must not exist.
