What is the purpose of the BART?
BART monitors its parking facilities to deter crime and ensure compliance with parking rules. Vehicles and persons using BART parking facilities may be recorded by surveillance cameras, and vehicle license plate numbers may be captured. Use of surveillance technologies is governed by BART’s Surveillance Ordinance.
Is the BART responsible for theft?

Is the Civic Center hostel in Fort Mason a good place to stay?
P.S. I share the above concern. The Civic Center hostel is not in a particularly nice location. I advise against it and recommend the downtown hostel instead. Alternatively, if you can manage to get a reservation at the Fort Mason hostel, there is the added advantage of on-site parking, which would allow you to cut out the whole BART thing.

To demonstrate that commitment, BART is implementing a new station cleaning program that will raise standards and allow us to better utilize our resources. The new strategy is focused on deploying increased resources to our busiest stations as well as making sure that BART is conforming with industry best practices. We have crews that work at all hours of the day to help keep things clean. Stations receive full cleanings each day involving a sweeping of the platforms, concourse, escalator steps and stairs, damp mop of any spills, and cleaning of elevator floors and panels. Any mess encountered will be removed and surface sprayed with the appropriate cleaning agent.
