Does QuestBridge actually help?
Yes, I think Questbridge does give you a better acceptance chance, especially if you decide to do College Match and your EFC is $0. Certainly, schools look hard at QB candidates because they have been pre-screened and pre-selected for academic excellence and persistence.
What is QuestBridge, and who is eligible?
QuestBridge students have succeeded academically while experiencing long-term financial hardship. We are looking for academically stellar students who have demonstrated a level of academic achievement that meets the admissions standards of our college partners. These are students whom you can envision thriving on the campus of a leading college. In addition, students must demonstrate ongoing financial hardship.
Why do I applied to QuestBridge?
The QuestBridge Finalist selection process requires consideration of many factors - both academic and financial- and therefore the particular circumstances in which you were not made a Finalist may not have any final bearing on where you will ultimately be admitted.
Is regular decision binding?
Regular Decision is a non-binding admission program and the majority of applicants apply through Regular Decision.
How many QuestBridge finalists get in regular decision?

Does QuestBridge guarantee admission?

What does "binding admission" mean?
Binding admission means that if a student is admitted to that school, that student is obligated to attend and must withdraw any applications to other colleges. If you receive a binding offer of admission through the Match, the admission comes with the Match Scholarship, a full scholarship covering the cost of attendance.
Applying early to colleges
National College Match applicants who rank colleges cannot apply to other colleges through Early Decision, Early Action, or Single-Choice Early Action (also known as Restrictive Early Action). Even if you rank MIT, which is not binding, you cannot apply early to other colleges.
Exceptions to the QuestBridge Early Application Policy
Students may apply to any college or university that requires an early application for eligibility to special scholarships or programs, as long as the admissions decision is non-binding.

How does the Match work with the University of Virginia?
The University of Virginia is a college partner with QuestBridge. If you are selected as a QuestBridge Finalist and wish to rank UVA as one of your twelve choices, your QuestBridge application will be forwarded to UVA's Office of Undergraduate Admission. In addition to the QuestBridge application, however, UVA requires some additional information.

When are QuestBridge Finalists notified if they are matched with UVA?
Matched students will be notified by QuestBridge in early December and contacted by UVA shortly thereafter.
I am a QB Finalist. Will UVA accept the QuestBridge Application in place of the Common Application?
Yes. If you submit the QuestBridge application to UVA, you must complete the UVA Supplement in your MyUVA Application Portal to be considered an active applicant. Please know that you cannot submit both the QuestBridge application and the Common Application.
I really need the scholarship that the Match provides. What are UVA's financial aid policies? How do QuestBridge Match financial aid packages differ from standard UVA financial aid packages?
Students admitted via the QuestBridge College Match are guaranteed full financial support with grant-based aid for all four years at UVA. Do I have a better chance of being admitted to UVA if I apply through the Match process?
No. Match candidates, like all applicants to UVA, are evaluated in the same rigorous and holistic manner and all applicants are held to the same high standards.
