We have had a Subaru Outback for 20 years, and have loved it. It has been the most useful and reliable car we have ever owned (and both my wife and I are north of age 65, so we have owned a goodly number of cars).
Still a great SUV
I haven't had any problems with this car. I think it's great. I don't have the fuel in oil problem that some are having. Apparently it's been a problem with a few CRVs from 2017 2018 EX models . I don't know how common the problem is. I decided to base my review on my experiences and not what I read about others. The ride is comfortable.
Look for something else
The driving performance on the 2018 is passable for what it is. Don't let the turbo charger fool you- it is there to help gas mileage (which is ok); the CRV has all the acceleration you would expect from a low end economy 4 cylinder; i.e., not much. What is really poor though, and was poorly represented by the dealer is the "infotainment".
GAS in Oil - WOULD NOT RECOMMEND -
Update after 2 years: Dealer updated software to fix the gas in oil. I noticed gas in the oil and returned to dealer to report the condition. The dealer refused to document the condition saying this is what Honda recommends which means they don't truly have a fix. Love the vehicle but wouldn't recommend the engine.
love it...but
As a long time Honda owner ( have had nothing but Honda since 1984, many models) we were looking forward to enjoying this car for many adventures back and forth to Florida and other places. We have put 25K on it in the first year and 90% of the time has been wonderful.
