Clear the Shelters is a national campaign that encourages people to adopt from their local shelters in an effort to “clear the shelters.” The campaign receives national and local coverage on NBC and each year over 100,000 animals are adopted from participating shelters and rescues.
The 8th annual pet adoption campaign will run from August 1 – 31. This traditional in-person event is now a month-long “Adopt & Donate” effort. Since its 2015 inception, the nationwide Clear The Shelters event has helped more than 700,000 pets find new homes.
What is clear the shelters?
NBC and Telemundo owned stations are teaming up with hundreds of shelters across the country to host Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 17 to help find loving homes for animals in need.
Is clear the shelters 2020 going virtual?
Clear The Shelters is going virtual in 2020. The 6th annual pet adoption campaign will run from August 1 – 31. To practice safe social distancing measures, the in-person event is now a month-long “Adopt & Donate” effort. Since 2015, the Clear The Shelters nationwide event has made it possible for more than 410,000 pets to find new homes.
Where can I adopt a dog from clear the shelters?
Animal shelters across the country are once again teaming up with NBC and Telemundo stations to find loving homes for pets in need with the Clear The Shelters 2022 pet adoption and donation campaign. The stations’ month-long “Adopt & Donate” effort features virtual pet adoptions and ways to donate online to participating shelters and rescues.
What time does Clear the Shelters start?
The first half hour of the special NBC’s “Clear The Shelters” will run at 7:00PM will spotlight the amazing adoptive families, unsung heroes who work at the shelters and of course, adorable pets who are being welcomed into new homes.
Who hosts Finding a Forever Home?
The second half hour WBRE-TV’s “Finding a Forever Home” at 7:30PM will be hosted by Eyewitness News morning anchors, Kelly Byrne and Sean Coffey will highlight the efforts here in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania to find homes for animals.
When is the pet adoption drive?
Launching August 1st and culminating with Clear The Shelters Day Friday, August 28th, the pet adoption drive will include the participation of local animal shelters/rescues. On August 28, participating organizations will offer low cost or waived pet adoption fees to help families adopt a pet.
